Concave
This project was inspired by an object acquired at a car boot sale, where I was drawn to the characteristics and mystery of what turned out to be a Victorian hair receiver. The project focuses on the inferred meaning behind concave forms, discussing implied functions, semantics, and the interpretation of shape. The output of this project is a collection of concave objects and material processes that suggest potential applications through subtle nuance. Developed diagrams articulate the subconscious reading of these forms, relating back to the initial mystery of the found object.
